Suhi Choi's research focuses on the complex conjunction of memory and history in international communication. She also explores the way in which people construct, appreciate, and disseminate both cultural and historical knowledge in documentary forms of representation. Suhi Choi is particularly interested in how media remember the past events; how they reconstruct and legitimize narratives of the past events, and how they embrace dynamic concurrences of official and counter memories. She has recently completed her doctoral dissertation titled The Korean War caught in history and memory: Examining U.S. media coverage of the No Gun Ri Incident (1999-Present) and Korean survivors's testimonies. In the near future, she will continue to extend her research on American collective memory of the Korean War that intermittently has emerged in American popular culture since the 1950s.
