I'm originally from Virginia, but I grew up and attended college in North Carolina. I have a wife, Stefanie, who is also an NC transplant. We have a son, Davis, who was born in Pennsylvania while we were graduate students at Penn State.

I currently coordinate WRTG 1010, Introduction to Academic Writing. My syllabus centers on the study of academic and other literacies. The course also has an online (wiki-based) component.
