I’m a fourth-semester graduate student in the Communication department at the University of Utah. I am studying conflict resolution, environmental communication and critical theory to inform my interest in practical documentary journalism work. I am interested in looking at the intersections between social justice and environmentalism, as the primary victims of environmental degradation and industrialism are the poor and powerless.
I want to do long length, in-depth documentary journalism work, using print and images. Although I have little interest in video, lately I’ve thought a lot about doing radio journalism, as well.

I also work as a freelance writer and a contributing editor for CATALYST Magazine in Salt Lake City, Utah (www.catalystmagazine.net).
