Additional Information:
Probationary Admissions
If a student's application has been found to be promising but not sufficient for entry into the program, the Director of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Studies Committee have the option of admitting such a student for a probationary trial. Students admitted on a probationary basis are required to take graduate courses for two semesters, after which they may petition for removal of the probationary status. Students admitted on a probationary basis must consult with the Graduate Director about coursework that would enhance skills required for graduate study. Courses taken during this probationary period count toward the degree.
