Karen Ogden - Communication

Publication Date: Oct 27, 2009

My education at the University of Utah provided a diverse and challenging experience which prepared me to work with people from all backgrounds.

Karen Child Ogden is a busy mother of three and a licensed marriage and family therapist with a practice in Orange County California.

Ogden has a bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Utah, and a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. She has led therapy and educational groups across the country and is actively involved in educating parents about the effects of technology on children.

Ogden is proud to be the co-creator and contributor of The Temptation of a Generation children's book series, the first series to tackle the difficult topics of pornography, cell phone use and abuse, and cyber bullying. She has served on the Board of Directors for The Children's Center in Salt Lake City from 2004-2007, and most recently as a Co-Executive Director for LifeSTAR Los Angeles. She is a frequent speaker, and contributor to local and national publications.

Ogden credits finding her life's career to a very special professor in the Communication Department who saw her passion and pointed her in the right direction. "My education at the University of Utah provided a diverse and challenging experience which prepared me to work with people from all backgrounds."
