About Us
About Asian Studies Program
The Asian Studies major is an interdisciplinary degree that will both deepen and broaden your understanding of this crucial region of the world. An Asian Studies degree will make you more competitive in today’s market. Our graduates have jobs in a wide variety of fields, from law, biological research, graphic design, and the computer industry to public service here and abroad as well as overseas entrepreneurship. Our graduates have also gone on to prestigious graduate programs at places such as UCLA, University of Washington, Indiana University, University of Chicago, and Columbia University.
Courses are offered in twelve departments across five colleges here at the University and many of the classes fulfill general education requirements. The ASM works especially well as a double major with Chinese or Japanese languages, History, Political Science, and many other disciplines.
