Although the number of applications (as well as the number of acceptances) changes each year, we usually receive between 120-150 applications each year, and accept between 10%-15% of those applicants.

Welcome to the Department of Communication at the University of Utah!

The Department of Communication is committed to the full spectrum of research and teaching in the discipline of Communication. We offer undergraduate majors in both Mass Communication and Speech Communication that lead to Bachelor's degrees. There are ten sequences in the two undergraduate majors and two post-baccalaureate certificate programs. We also offer Communication graduate degrees of Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Ph.D. degrees.
