The Department of Communication has a long and distinguished tradition of excellence in graduate education. Our nationally acclaimed graduate program is the driving force of our department. As one of the few integrated communication departments in the country, we provide training across the full spectrum of communication studies. In addition to the widely recognized areas of specialty that comprise speech communication, mass communication, and journalism, the department emphasizes innovative, interdisciplinary studies in environmental and science communication, conflict resolution and peace and conflict studies, new media technologies, and critical-cultural studies.
