- One of the best gateways to information and links on the internet in and about Latin America is the Latin American Network Information Center. It is hosted at the University of Texas and has links organized by topics and by countries and can help the beginning student or the advanced researcher find the information they need about Latin America.
-
The Marriott Library has developed extensive research guides that can be of help in writing papers or simply learning more about Latin America, the Caribbean or any particular country. The two most relevant are: Latin America and the Carribbean Research Guide
World History Research Guide - There are several journal holdings in Marriott Library that are available either in hard copy or electronically that are quite useful in keeping up with contemporary Latin America. The hard copy materials are published by Latin American Newsletters and are available in the current periodical section on the Third Floor. For example, they publish the "Latin American Weekly Report" (Call # F 1401 L 3256) that contains a summary of the major political and economic events of the week. They have an economic report as well as reports on Mexico, the Anedan countries, Brazil, etc.
- The best electronic source is the Latin American Data Base that is accessed through the "Article Databases" link on the Marriott Library Home Page. They publish periodic reports called "Sourcemex," "Noticen," and "Notisur," covering Mexico, Central Ameria, and South America.
