How do I declare a Major or Minor in Philosophy?
You do not need a special appointment with an Advisor to declare, although of course you may find such an appointment helpful. If you've read and understand the relevant requirements - whether for the Philosophy Major, the Philosophy Minor, or the Cognitive Science Minor - you are ready to declare. You may get the needed form from the Philosophy Department receptionist (during normal business hours) and fill it out in a matter of minutes. If you would like an appointment with an advisor, contact the Undergraduate Advisor.
Acceptance into the program for an Honors Degree in Philosophy requires a bit more work. For full information, go to the Honors Degree page.
