Graduate Program - Admissions
 
Application for Admission

All applications for admission must be received by January 15th for proper consideration for admission in Fall of the same year. In special circumstances, students may begin graduate study in any semester but must have the application process completed at least 60 days prior to the first day of classes of the semester for which admission is sought. (Completed applications received less than 60 days prior to the start of the semester for which admission is sought may be charged a $20.00 fee by the University Admissions Office and will be reviewed by the Department Graduate Committee for admission for the following semester.)

Applicants must:

  • Submit an Application for Admission to the Graduate School and the appropriate fees directly to the Graduate Admissions Office.
  • Submit transcripts of previous academic work directly to the Graduate Admissions Office.
  • Submit three letters of recommendation, a writing sample, and a written personal statement directly to the Philosophy Department Graduate Committee.
  • Forward copies of GRE scores and TOEFL scores (for international students) to the Philosophy Department Graduate Committee.

Complete applications are reviewed and voted on by the Department Graduate Committee which makes a recommendation to the Graduate School. Written notification of the final determination of applications will be issued by the Graduate Admissions Office. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
